In digital photography, the image sensor format is the shape and size of the image sensor.
Canon offers 2 formats of sensors for DSLR camera:
Full Frame = 35mm
‘Full frame’ is the term used to describe a camera with a sensor the same size as a 35mm film negative, measuring 36 x 24mm.
APS-C size
Its dimensions are 22.3 x14.9mm or 22.0×14.7mm depending the model.
Canon crop factor for APS-C format is 1.6
